Bio
Rabbi Eli Garfinkel received rabbinical ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in 1999. In 2005, after serving synagogues in Toronto and Cincinnati, he became the spiritual leader of Temple Beth El in Somerset, New Jersey, where he started an annual Jewish film festival, organized communal Passover seders, and teaches popular adult education courses. He is a past president of the New Jersey Rabbinical Assembly and amateur iOS developer.
He is the author of the JPS Jewish Heritage Torah Commentary, as well as the commentaries that are widely used in the Ramah community. He writes a daily d'var Torah that is available on Substack. He lives with his wife, Naomi Lasky, and their twins. |
